About Jennifer

Hello! My name is Jennifer Cala, I'm a UX/UI designer obsessed with creating user-centered experiences that delight. A year of freelancing has honed my skills in taking projects from concept to user-tested completion.

I'm passionate about crafting inclusive experiences, ensuring no user is left behind. My design process prioritizes accessibility research tailored to the needs of each project's target demographic. This meticulous approach ensures I can integrate best practices without unintended consequences, avoiding conflicts that can arise when applying accessibility principles universally. Figma, a leading design tool, empowers me to bring these accessible experiences to life.

In my previous entrepreneurial venture, I wore multiple hats, including social media content creation, where I developed and executed impactful strategies for a diverse range of brands. Through close collaboration with clients, I gained valuable experience in deciphering their needs and goals, translating them into engaging content and campaigns that resonated with their target audiences. I honed my ability to rapidly pivot and adapt to feedback, an essential skill in the ever-evolving world of UX design.

My past working experience also included a program I created and launched crafting personalized home organization programs, specifically tailored for individuals with neurodivergence, where traditional approaches fell short. This endeavor allowed me to cultivate my empathetic listening skills, enabling me to craft solutions that genuinely addressed individual needs. I excel at connecting with people from diverse backgrounds, fostering a collaborative and inclusive design approach.

As a highly motivated and collaborative individual, I am always eager to expand my knowledge and contribute to team success. My unwavering willingness to help others and my confidence in my skills and experience make me a valuable asset to any UX/UI design team. I am excited to advance in a fulfilling career in UX/UI design, where I can continue to create meaningful and impactful experiences for users.

  • As the lead instructor of Jennifer's UX/UI certification program, I had the opportunity to observe her skills firsthand over the course of several months and multiple projects. She displays uncommon natural leadership and a bias for action that makes her a powerful resource for any team she joins. Her background in entrepreneurship has given her a diverse skillset that will be of immense value in the digital product design field. Clear and concise communication, critical thinking, and collaborative problem solving were regularly on display in my interactions with her and in observing her work with her peers on a variety of projects. Jennifer has already cultivated many of the most crucial soft skills that will make her a standout performer with any team that gives her the opportunity to gain more field experience

  • Jennifer was the team lead for the last group project in UI UX Bootcamp from Denver University. Jenn is a natural leader, organized and thorough. She kept up the guardrails for our project, CareerDay. Under her guidance, we shared the workload evenly, engaged in thoughtful design decision making processes, and kept us on track with a tight deadline. She's an excellent project manager who brings a lot to the table when it comes to design thinking and challenging standards.
